This was one of my worst selling cards. It's obvious to me that it was too dark! That's not the whole story. While this section is on post cards, I also produced and sold different souvenirs of Albany at the same time. The salesman for the company liked this card so much that he convinced me to order over 3,000 "Plaque Mats" with the same design. A plaque mat can be used either as a hot plate ("mat") or put on the wall as a plaque. The design on this mat was so repulsive to me that I tried to stop the order when I received the first 1,500 plaques. Fortunately I succeeded, but there are more than 1,000 of these plaques in my cellar to this day. (I gave away quite a few of them!)

Besides the plaque mats, the salesman was able to convince another distributor to sell ˝ of the printing of the post cards on the New York State Thruway. But I still have thousands of these cards available...

The cards are 4" x 6". The publisher was Plastichrome® by Colourpicture. The card is ©1977 by Avis Post Card Co. (I took the picture.) The card number shown is P82064.

25,500 cards were printed. 12,500 cards were shipped to the other distributor to be sold on the New York State Thruway. The cards were delivered about August 1, 1977.
