In 1977, I had big hopes of expanding my business to the two other local cities of Schenectady and Troy. The firm that I had purchased (Princlys) had several cards from each city, so I thought I would add one new card to the line from each city.

In 1977, the Troy City Hall was relatively new. I thought the architecture was interesting, so asked the Colourpicture photographer to find an interesting angle that showed the shape of the building.

While I found few customers in Troy, to my surprise this became a popular card for an unusual reason. You will note a black bridge in the lower left corner of the photo. Soon after the picture was taken, there was a flood in the area and the bridge collapsed. Apparently this was one of the last photos taken of the bridge, (Certainly for a post card!) so it became popular for collectors.

The cards are 3˝" x 5˝". The publisher was PlastichromeŽ by Colourpicture. The card is Dist. by Avis Post Card Co., The card number shown is P310537. Photo by Bob Glander. My card/stock number of 966 shows in the lower left corner.

6,850 cards were delivered in the spring of 1977.
