- You are invited to attend an organizational meeting to help plan for a
series of evangelistic and revival meetings in the Northeast. Starting
in the Albany area.
|
2
|
- While I have some ideas, I will need a LOT of help!
|
3
|
- The first priority should be prayer. Is this the time? Is there
sufficient interest?
- We would need an official organization, with officers and volunteers to
work on the various aspects of such an undertaking.
- As I write this, I know no one who is interested in performing any
specific duty.

|
- A paper invitation was sent to 50 churches, however I received few
replies . . .
- I understand that most pastors are very busy, so, while I would like
them to come, the meeting is now open to anyone interested in evangelism
and revival planning.
- The facility will hold 100 people, so I would appreciate knowing if you
plan to attend due to space limitations and name badges.
|
5
|
- You are invited to attend no matter what denomination or independent
church you attend, so long as you have a heart for Christian revival and
evangelism.
- I am not interested in various doctrinal differences between churches.
- Our priority should be to have people know Jesus Christ as their personal
Savior, no matter the specific worship style that your church practices.
|

|
- Some of my “ideas” are borrowed from my reading about past campaigns
from up to two centuries ago. . .
- The location would change, as the circuit riders of old (e.g. Albany,
Schenectady, Troy, Saratoga Springs, Pittsfield, then in a specific
pattern after that).
|

|
- As we have different worship styles, we also have different musical
styles in our church services. This campaign should have various types
of music on the different dates. (e.g. Praise music one night, hymns
another night, and orchestrated music another night.)
|

|
- I think there are two different aspects here. We should prioritize
evangelism, but also realize that we need a revival in the land.
- I believe that a revival represents a reawakening of people that have
previously known the Lord, but for various reasons, have retreated to
their old ways. (backslidden) This idea would combine the two…
|

|
- I would suggest having two meetings on each date. One sermon on
evangelism, then a few hours later, another on revival.
- The speaker could be the same person, or different. The music could be
the same or different, but both meetings would be on the same day.
|

|
- I probably have more questions than you do!
- Who would be the speakers?
- Can we get national speakers and musical groups?
- Shouldn’t we have a large local choir?
- How should the events be spaced? (Once a month?)
- Can we travel to different locations and keep up the interest?
- When people come forward, who would counsel them?
- How about an inquiry room, like D.L. Moody had?
|
11
|
- Which churches would we direct new believers to go to?
- Who would train the counselors?
- How would we be able to pay for the facilities and other expenses?
- Can YOU help with these initial questions?
- Do you know someone who can?
|
12
|
- I need your help! Remember our Christian priority should be to lead as
many others to Christ as possible – before it’s too late.
- Will you come?
|
13
|
- The meeting will be held at the Crossings of Colonie, as you saw in the
illustrations. Please return the enclosed post card if you received one,
so I can prepare name tags and have an estimated count. Even if you
can’t attend, please return the post card.

|
- The meeting is scheduled to be held on Thursday, April 29, 2004, from
7:00 to apx. 9:00 PM.
- I have only spoken to an audience once (at my baptism!), so will be
looking forward to a lot of suggestions and input!!!
- Please call Dennis at 459-7553 if you have any questions or suggestions.
